Food Industry Case Studies
PEEK guide blocks, rollers, and bottle clamp blocks are used in beverage filling equipment. PEEK guide blocks are widely used in green tea and black tea filling equipment for brands such as Master Kong and Uni-President. They are also extensively used in Coca-Cola’s filling production lines.
PEEK5600 – Series Advantages
Low Specific Gravity
Replaces titanium alloy (4.5 g/cm³) and aluminum alloy (4.5 g/cm³) to achieve lightweight design.
High Wear Resistance
Melting point is 343°C, long-term use at 260°C, thermal distortion temperature of composite material approximately 330°C, and higher temperature resistance.
High Strength
The mechanical properties of PEEK modified with chopped fibers are slightly lower than those of aluminum alloys.
Corrosion Resistance
It has corrosion resistance against most organic solvents such as acids and alkalis. It is corroded by halogens and strong acids at high temperatures and is soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid at room temperature.
Thermoplastic Material
Fatigue resistance and impact strength are significantly better than thermoset materials, with longer service life, environmentally friendly, and recyclable.
Material Stability
It better reflects the properties of low gas outgassing in space and vacuum coating environments.
Wear Resistance
High hardness and low friction coefficient.
Dimensional Stability
PEEK reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion, thereby drastically reducing the risk of swelling.

PEEK Properties
Eco-friendly and non-toxic. PEEK itself is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and has passed FDA certification. It can be used for food contact with no time limitation on contact.
Low moisture absorption and hydrolysis resistance. It can work long-term in water and steam environments.
Excellent wear resistance. PEEK and its composites have leading wear resistance among plastics, three times that of copper alloys.
Corrosion resistance. Food processing and packaging equipment is designed for self-cleaning to ensure food quality and safety. Cleaning solutions are typically composed of acids and chlorine. PEEK has an amazingly stable chemical structure with excellent corrosion resistance against various organic and inorganic solutions, even at high temperatures. It solves the problem of metals and ordinary plastics being unable to withstand corrosion long-term.
Self-lubrication. It can operate stably for long periods without the need for oil lubrication. This avoids the use of metal parts that require oil lubrication, preventing contamination of packaging machines and food products. At the same time, the appearance of packaging machines remains cleaner.
Easy to form. PEEK has excellent processing and forming characteristics. It can be processed using injection molding, machining, milling, drilling, tapping, NC, CNC, and other processes to conveniently manufacture various complex shaped parts according to customer drawings or samples.
High temperature resistance. Packaging machines and food products are typically sterilized through high temperatures and lasers. PEEK has a continuous use temperature up to 260°C. It maintains good mechanical strength even at 300°C and can be heated in hot air ovens, autoclaves, contact heaters, or microwave ovens. Therefore, PEEK parts can withstand repeated sterilization, including 200°C autoclave sterilization, 143°C flash sterilization, γ-ray sterilization, and ethylene oxide sterilization. It does not lose mechanical properties and maintains excellent stress cracking resistance.
Thanks to PEEK’s excellent characteristic advantages such as wear resistance, high temperature resistance, high strength, and self-lubrication, we can ensure continuous long-term use of equipment components, avoiding equipment downtime caused by part replacement.
